The name comes from one of the most stunning moments in all of Scripture — Revelation 5. John weeps because no one is found worthy to open the scroll. Then he is told: “Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah… has conquered.” And when he looks, he sees a Lamb — standing as though it had been slain.
